In this role, you will lead research to contribute to the Environment Agencys work. You will have a passion for acquiring and translating new knowledge into workable solutions for existing or future environmental challenges. Effective communication skills are essential to explain our science to different audiences. You will develop effective relationships to help us achieve our aims and identify new technical needs and opportunities to support our work. Your curiosity and flexibility to apply your knowledge to new topics will be invaluable to help us find solutions to complex challenges. We are a multidisciplinary team of scientists working to address the current and future challenges facing our water environment. You will bring your own specialism and expertise to our team. Depth of expertise in aquatic ecology, assessing risks to aquatic ecosystems from contaminants of emerging concern or water quality modelling are highly desirable. We inform and deliver the governments key environmental objectives using evidence, expertise, engagement, and innovation we influence policy and legislation, facilitate, and enhance integrated delivery and, by building trust in the Environment Agency, secure resources to do more for the environment. Experienceskills Required This is a scientific role. You will have a postgraduate qualification MSc, MRes or PhD. In your application please demonstrate you Possess technical expertise in a relevant environmental discipline e.g. ecology, environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology, modelling. Apply your critical thinking and technical leadership to diverse challenges Have excellent data science skills in analysing, visualising and interpreting data Plan and deliver and publish research, through undertaking your own research or managing delivery through others. Are a great communicator, comfortable translating research and providing scientific advice to nonspecialists Work collaboratively with enthusiasm and thought, helping less experienced team members learning and development.
